Just received more raspberry plants & nanking cherries this weekend. Can't believe Gurney's ships these to SD in March. May have to heel them in for a few weeks. Starting seeds indoors today, and looking forward to planting time.
We're trying something different this year. We're lining a winding path with concrete blocks buried 1/2 way, and planting in the holes so the garden will form a border for the garden path. We'll see how it turns out. If we don't like it we can do something different next year.
Hope all is going well for you. I'm catching up on a few things after being gone Thur-Sun on a Teens Encounter Christ weekend. :)
Hi Al,
We bought our current home about 2.5 years ago. The first year we planted trees (there were only 2), the second year we planted small berries and shrubs, and next year we plant the garden paths. We're going to experiment mixing clusters of veggies, herbs and flowers along both sides of the main winding path. I also get to figure out the best use for about 150 landscaping timbers that we picked up on the cheap last fall.
I'll pray for your job search - unless you want to hold onto the gift awhile longer. :)
Honorary Texan!? Well, I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here just as fast as I could. (39 yrs old when I moved here) How did you become an honorary Texan?

Faith, Community, Mission
We may live far apart, but we are a community built in, through, and with the indwelling Christ. Our worship is a sacrifice of time, given to know Him intimately. We each serve, minister, and express our Lord Jesus, who is the only Head. Let us be known simply by our love for each other, in anticipation of when every knee will be bent in His Kingdom. And, let us follow the earthly mission Jesus began and passed to His followers to “preach goods news to the poor, proclaim release to the captives, recover sight to the blind, let the oppressed go free, and proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
